A Trade Commissioner has a diplomatic rank and enjoys diplomatic immunity. The task of a Trade Commissioner is to represent the interests of the State. It is about conducting trade negotiations, establishing useful contacts, and positive relations between the Republic of Vanuatu and the country in which he serves. A Trade Commissioner participates in trade negotiations and conferences. He also supports compatriots abroad. A Trade Commissioner carries out his mission on the basis of the Vienna Convention in the host country in the interests of the Republic of Vanuatu.
